24th of July Fun

We started out the weekend by spending some time at the local park for a few rides and games for Jack. Hotdogs, snowcones, and corn on the cob were also part of our fun afternoon.

Jack LOVED the fishing booth. He only did it 3 times and would have done it more but we ran out of tickets!

That evening we headed down to Main St. to watch the parade. It was so hot and we were right in the sun, so Rob, Jack, Jeni, & Grandad found some shade sitting in the middle of the street before the parade came by.

On the actually day the 24th we went up to Red Butte Gardens, liked I mentioned in my previous post, and had fun. Jack loves the kids area and he enjoyed running through the tunnels

We had a nice picnic in the shade by the river and just enjoyed being outside. It was a great weekend!

Then & Now

We have had a very fun Pioneer Day weekend and I will post some other pictures soon, but today we went to Red Butte Gardens, it is free entrance on the 24th of July, and we did the same thing 3 years ago. Here are some fun then and now pictures of our boys.

We have added Cameron to our family and we couldn't be happier. I know in this picture Cam doesn't seem to happy to be with us, but I think overall he is a very happy kid and we hope he is happy to be with us.

Keepin' Cool

It has been very hot around here lately and so last week we ventured out in the evening to the local farmers market. On a side note one of the things I love about where I live is how so many things are within walking distance to our house. The library, parks, stores, post office, the rec center, all the local festivities they hold on Main St. including the farmers market. When we do go down to the farmers market Jack usually ends up with a snow cone and we take the soccer ball or frisbee and throw it around on the grass. This was Cam's first farmers market and he really didn't want to be left out of the snow cone part.

Going Private

Okay, so I really never planned on doing this, but something happened today with my parents mission blogs and I have decided that I want a bit more control over who may come across my blog. Let me explain. I received a call today that my parents name was being used in a Craigslist scam. This woman who was looking to rent a house in New Hampshire found an add for a place and in her correspondence with the people offering the rental home this is what they said to her...

"Thanks for your email and your interest on my House.It was a great pleasure to hear from you and the House is very much available to be rented,we are currently in Spain with my family where we work as a volunteer with the Missionary,I have three children two boys and a girl we are honest and caring people,here is the site http://spainbilbaomission.blogspot.com/ for more details about why I am here in Spain. I spent less time in the States so I could not get a hold on any Realtor to handle this rent issue, although it was when I knew how long we are going to stay in Africa that I decided to rent out the house. However, the initial plan was to sell out the house. which I tried, but sometimes the agents inflates the price and it takes longer to sell i am telling you this in case you find the house on another website, that is the old advert So I need a tenant to take care of it but since I am out of the state now,I have received some proposals regarding the rent, but I still have to make sure it is rented out to someone who can take good care of it. It includes facilities such as water and heat laundry facilities, air condition, internet and telephone access and a car park and other necessary facilities, also comes with trash collection, pets are allowed as well as long as they are not destructive. So if you know you are capable of the task,get back to me so that I can provide you with some questions that I would want you to answer."

Well this woman who found the add and was looking to rent the house just happens to be a member of the LDS church and knew what missionary service meant in the LDS church, and she actually contacted the local Bishop in NH because she thought it sounded strange and he of course had no idea who my parents were. She tracked us down in Bountiful, which sounds weird I know, but I think it was very nice of her to put the effort into letting us know. Can you see why I want to go private?? Spain Day 12- Wednesday

We made it home! It was a long day, but the kids did great. Rob even surprised us and was able to get through security and met us right at the gate. We then came downstairs and Nikki was there with a poster-what a welcome home. I wish I had a picture of Jack giving Rob a big hug, he really missed his Daddy. It was nice to hear Jack's asking for his Daddy to help him do everything once we were home.

Jack was so excited to see Henry as well. I wish I had a video of the tackle hug he gave Henry, it was so funny. Jack LOVES his cousins.
You know when you look forward to something for so long they it actually comes and at the end of it you ask yourself if that really happened. I feel that way about this trip, I can't believe it has come and gone. I can't believe that it is July. I can't believe that my baby is 6 1/2 months old, and I can't believe that my parents have been gone for 1 year. I have recently been reminded of how important it is to enjoy the little moments because really before you know it they will be gone. I am working at doing that and working at playing race cars with Jack, or shooting pretend bad guys all over the house more because seriously before I know it, he won't ask me to play with him.
