In addition to having a great time on the slide, we were treated to some great lighting. Lest you start thinking that Sophie was scared of that slide or that we sent her down against her will - take a look at these darling pics.

Great Lighting
In addition to having a great time on the slide, we were treated to some great lighting. Lest you start thinking that Sophie was scared of that slide or that we sent her down against her will - take a look at these darling pics.
Monster Slide
Everyone should come up to visit the Cleggs here in Seattle because they can take you on a monster slide. You should see Sophie go down this thing. She's a freight train banging around with absolutely no hesitation. Jack and Grace know better, but Sophie she just flies down this thing. Wish I had video but you can imagine...
Sleepless in Seattle
This is an apt name for this post because Jack was a crazy boy the first night here in the hotel. First of all we have him sleeping in a travel crib partly in the bathroom (memo to self - get an disabled bathroom the next time we travel with the monkey). Things were going fine until some Jr. High choir group came through at 11:00 pm and woke him up. The rest of the night was an epic struggle which Jack ultimately won. Net result: Sleepless in Seattle.
Nevertheless, one of our favorite things about our trip was a delightful little cruise we took of Lake Union and Lake Washington. The moderated tour guide told some great stories. Here's a pic of the Sleepless in Seattle house - (it's for sale for a cool $2.3 M)
Bill Gates house: 66,000 sq. feet!
And some other pics of the beautiful people on the boat:
Jack Meets a New Friend
Pacific Science Center
(Rob here)
Ever since I've become an adult, I find that things aren't quite up to my childhood expectations. Case in point - the Pacific Science Center. I have these amazing memories of the science center being a place of wonder and excitement. Perhaps it was the 3,000 5th graders everywhere, but the Pacific Science Center wasn't all that for me or any of the kids. Granted they are too young to test their color blindness or appreciate the phases of a butterfly, so maybe the next time will go better.

Livin' The High Life
Jack has really taken to life in a hotel. He loves the elevator buttons and has no problem finding our room or the ice machine. He's really enjoying the hot breakfast restaurant as well, but most of all I think he really seems himself as an adult since we're sharing the room with him. Here's Jack doing what he sees his daddy do.

Thank You Mr. President
If you have read Rob's earlier post about doing our patriotic duty you will know that we used our stimulus package money to buy a great new camera. Rob has been trying to teach me how to use the camera to its fullest potential and here are some of my attempts at using the new camera. I am also happy to report that we have now received our portion of the stimulus money!:) Yeah!!

Mr. Quackers
Jack has this great Jellycat brand duck which is named Mr. Quackers, please don't ask me why, but as you can see Jack really likes this duck. He has started to play with it as if it is his friend. He puts the duck to sleep and has to make sure the duck has a blanket on top of him and a binky in the crib as well. It is so cute! Another activity that Mr. Quackers participates in is reading time. The book we are reading is called Duck in the Truck by Jez Alborough and it is a new favorite for both Jack and Mr. Quackers!:)

Bubble Fun
Sunday Sunset
Yes, that's me reading the Money section with Jack. Gotta start 'em young!
Note: Autofocus generally works pretty well but it got it wrong in the picture of Hillary and Jack behind the tree.

Arctic Circle
One of the best parts about living where we do is having lots of family near by. Last week I had a craving for some ice cream (I am supposed to be dieting) so I made some calls and before we knew it we had three families at the local Arctic Circle for some time on the playground. (I had a Oreo + Fudge shake which is NOT on my diet plan).
