Happy New Year!

Christmas Eve & Christmas Day

Our Christmas Eve started out by taking a trip to the zoo. The weather wasn't terrible and it is fun to be at the zoo when there are only a few people there.

We saw a brand new baby Colombo Monkey who was born on Dec. 9th. It was so so cute and just hung on to its Mommy. The boys loved seeing this baby.

I had to put up this tiger picture because this tiger was so fun. Those tigers are so pretty, but so scary. After the zoo we headed to Rob's parents house for some fun cookie making and then to his grandparents for Christmas Eve dinner.

We made it home and had the boys open their Christmas Eve presents. They were pj's and Jack was so sad. I couldn't figure out why and then I realized I think that was all he thought we were getting him for Christmas. Once we straightened that out it was smiles for the rest of the night.

Christmas morning didn't come too early as Jack slept in until 8. Once he was up it was all fun and games. He wanted a clone tropper gun, a pillow pet, and a case for his nerf gun bullets. Santa did not disappoint.

Cam had fun as well, and enjoyed a couple of new surprises. We skyped w/G&G in Spain and then we were off to SLC again. It was go go go but it was fun.

One of the funnest things for Jack over the weekend was a very rousing game with the nerf guns at G&G Christiansen's house. The whole family was involved and were chasing each other around. Jack couldn't have loved it more and was so serious about it, I was laughing and smiling the whole time just watching him.

We ended the night back at our house with some of our Clegg family and skyping some of the others. We had a very full Christmas weekend and enjoyed all of it. I will remember Jack on Christmas morning telling us that, "this is the best day of my life"! (He heard that on a movie he had watched the day before, but it was still cute)

Reading the Night Before Christmas with Nanna

All of Cam's living great grandparents were there. My Grandma Hall and Rob's G&G Flandro. It is so special to have them around and we were all so happy they could be there.

I can't believe that we don't have a picture of the cake. Oh well, it wasn't a total masterpiece I mean Jack and his cousin Henry did eat the eyes before I was able to put them on the cake. It was a little monkey and Cam had no problem knowing what to do with it. He just dove right in and loved it.

Big brother Jack is always so eager and willing to help unwrap gifts, blow out candles, and help eat Cam's cake!
Cam is just a joy and we love him. He is a happy boy who will always laugh if you play peek-a-boo with him, loves to chew on socks, put things into drawers, take things out of drawers, drink out of cups, feed himself, and so many other little funny things. We all look forward to many more fun adventures with our sweet Cameron.

So Long Farewell

We said goodbye and good riddance to Jack's cast this week. As you can see from the picture he was very happy to get it off. Actually the little saw thing was tickling him so he was laughing it was cute. It was xrayed again and is healing how it should be. It is so amazing how these little kids bodies can repair themselves. He has to be careful with his wrist for a while, yeah right, but he should be good to go.

We also said farewell to some of Cameron's baby hair as he got his first haircut. As you can see it was really long and he needed a trim. He was cute and did a great job.

NYC

Rob and I were able to spend a few days in NYC and we had a great time. Drop the boys off with Nana and we were off. There were so many great things to that our feet were sore from walking. In the picture above we are standing on the deck of the USS Intrepid. It is a retired Navy air craft carrier and it was very large. Not as large as the big Carnival cruise ship in the dock next door, but still very big. It was interesting to wander around and learn about where this ship had been.

This is one of the adorable windows at Macy's. They have a story that goes for about 4 or 5 windows and it was all made out of paper. Very cute.

We did a Food on Foot tour which was a lot of fun. We walked around a few blocks in the Hell's Kitchen area and stopped at 7 different places. We would sample a little bit at each place, where we would order whatever we wanted based on the guides recommendation. We were stuffed by the end but found some great cheap places. It was a great tour.

Rob on Top of The Rock. That is the Empire State Building in the background and all the other views were just amazing.

We took a tour of the NBC Studios which was a lot of fun. An NBC page took us around and we saw some studios where they film Dr. Oz, Jimmy Falon, and of course SNL. It was fun.

We took another walking tour of the Financial District which was interesting. There is one street where it is still cobble-stoned and it was very cool to see some of the old brick buildings that made up the area.

Federal Hall is on Wall St. and this is where George Washington was sworn in as President of the United Sates.

What? Who is that? Yes it is my good buddy Bono. He was just doing previews of his Spiderman show so we just stopped by to say hello.

We went to the top of the Empire State Building on Friday night and it was so cold, but so beautiful. It was a great way to end a birthday night.

In the massive Times Square. It was so crowded and I can only imagine what that place will be like in a few weeks where there are millions of people there ringing in the new year.

Ryan and Emily came down from Philadelphia to spend the day with us. It was so great to see them and to be there together. Here we are in the gorgeous Grand Central Station.
We had a great time and just love being in NYC. We saw a couple of shows, Memphis and we also saw the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall. Both shows were amazing and were so much fun. We made stops at the Met, The Natural History Museum, Shake Shack, and a couple other places I just can't remember right now. It was a fabulous trip and we can't wait to go again.

A First Word

So I think Cameron has said his first official word. Watch the video to see what it was. I bet you won't be surprised.

Thanksgiving Week

I LOVE this week. I truly love thinking about all the things I am thankful for and for the excitement of the coming Christmas season. I have been a not my best Mom this past week and so it is good for me to not think about how exhausted these little ones make me some days and think about how amazing it is to be their Mom. They test and try me but the joy and complete love they bring into my life far outweighs the hard moments.

Into Everything

Here is Cam in the pantry having a fun time. Memo to self...must remember to close the pantry door.

Guess Who Has A Broken Wrist?

That is right, this kiddo. He feel off the slide in our back yard and sure enough broke his wrist. He was in a lot of pain, and not a happy guy we felt bad for him. This morning we had it xrayed as sure enough a cast is what was ordered. Luckily it didn't have to go up over the elbow.

And the finished product, a bright neon green cast. The downside is that he HATES it. The first thing he did when we walked in the door is grab the scissors and try to cut it off. I think it is going to be a long 4 weeks, wish me luck.

Guess Who Is 2 Grams Lighter?

That is right this guy is. On Monday he had his appendix removed and it was a whopping 2 grams. Amazing how something so small can cause so much pain. The patient came home Tuesday morning and is doing very well. He worked at home this week in theory to take it easy, but I told him I think that he actually worked more than he normally does.
So long appendix, we won't miss you.

Happy Early Birthday Cam

We couldn't wait any longer, and I think Cam was feeling left out of the October birthday fest, so he got his present a few weeks early. I think he likes it!

Our Halloween Week

Our week of Halloween fun began last week with a Trunk or Treat at our church. They at a chili cook off and then let the kids trunk or treat.

Jack was a Clone Warrior from the Star Wars Clone Series. He was very serious and often in character all through out the week.

Even Cameron got into his monkey character.

Jack had a great Halloween program at pre-school and it was so much fun. They had prepared so many songs and fun poems to share and each child told a fun Halloween joke. Jack did great and everyone laughed at this joke.

We all went out to Aunt Jeni's work on Friday to trick or treat with her co-workers. They had decorated their office and had lots of fun treats for the kids. Doesn't Jeni look great in her Belle costume?!? She even made it all by herself.

We stayed in SLC and went to Red Butte Gardens Halloween fun. It was a great night to be outside and Jack had so much fun playing Star Wars with Rob all over the gardens.

Nanna helps to keep Jack warm as we finished up our night at Red Butte.

We finally got around to carving our pumpkin! Jack wanted to make a happy jack-o-lantern and we were happy to comply.

As time came around to go trick-or-treating the rain started and it wasn't a sprinkle it was a downpour, with some wind which meant we probably weren't going to be making it out. We decided to go watch the Utah football game in SLC w/Nanna & Grandad instead. At halftime we headed out for some trick or treating as the rain had stopped and had a fun night going to a few houses. The Utes won the football game, and Jack got some good candy so we were all happy!!
