Pioneer Day

This year for Jack and I were in the Bountiful Pioneer Day Parade. Jack was able to ride and I walked but it was fun and thank goodness it was not to hot.

Some members of our ward built a replica of the Bountiful Tabernacle, which is where we attend church each week. It was so amazing and so well done. Hopefully it will stay on display somewhere permanently.

We had Henry for the night and the boys had so much fun running around with sparklers and watching the big fireworks from our back yard. Happy 24th of July!

Mrs. Cavanaghs

We took a tour of Mrs. Cavanaghs chocolate factory a little while ago and it was fun. Jack thought it was fun and really enjoyed the sample that they gave us.

Cam also liked the samples and even tried to eat the chocolate off the walls. Should I be worried?

Even though we went to a chocolate factory my boys ended up with big old suckers.

Bingham Copper Mine

Rob and I took the boys out to the Bingham Copper Mine. I have never been out there and so it was something that I was looking forward to doing. It is amazing how much goes on there and how many things are made from the materials that come out of the mine. As you can see our little family in front of the huge tires that are on the big machines there at the mine. Each machine has four of those tires and they last about 9-12 months and cost $25,000. each. Once we got on top of the mountain we were able to look down into the big hole and it is big. It was a fun afternoon.

So Exciting!!

Rob's brother Steve got engaged on Friday July 1st and we are so excited for him and his fiance Erika! We think she is great and are thrilled to have her be joining our family.

Fourth of July

Our Forth of July weekend started out with a lot of fun. We had a Christiansen family BBQ in our back yard and then watched the fireworks in Centerville. Jack was in a bad mood because all he wanted me to do was buy him a light up lightsaber, but we already have too many toy weapons at our house we don't need any more. Cameron was cute and was so tired he fell asleep as the first fireworks were starting but he woke up and as long as he was being held really close he was ok.

The next morning was the Centerville parade which is always a lot of fun. Jack loves collecting the candy and Cam loved eating it.

We headed up to Eden for the weekend and participated in the Liberty Days on Monday the 4th. They do a lot of small town fun like mutton busting, a greased pig chase, and a chicken run. With the pig and chicken the kids all lined up and whoever chased it town and held it was given the chicken or pig as the prize. The mutton busting is where kids ride on the sheep and the sheep come out of a gate and the kids just try to hold on. Most don't make it 5 feet, it is crazy to watch.

Jack and his cousins riding in the little parade that began all the festivities. It was a great weekend and we had a lot of fun with family and friends.

Stay-cation

We had planned to make a trip to Southern Utah for a weekend in June, but the weekend that we were going to go, the temperatures sky rocketed up to 105' F. We decided it was probably not the smarted move to venture down in the hot hot weather so we elected to basically stay in Eden and go to the pool, and swim at Pineview Reservoir. We all stayed at my sister Nikki's house, that is Nikki above with her baby Sarah, and it was fun. We looked at the stars through their families telescope and were able to see Saturn and a lot of other amazing stars, nebula, and planets. We went to see the movies Cars 2 and just had a lot of fun one morning on the boat and playing on the beach. A pretty good stay-cation.

Swimming Lessons

Jack took his first official swimming lessons this summer and he loved it. He is really great at swimming with his life jacket on, but it was time to learn to swim without it. Here he is jumping off the diving board.
